K&L Chula Vista Concrete & Masonry, chulavistaconcreteandmasonry.com, team@chulavistaconcreteandmasonry.com

Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of the K&L Chula Vista Concrete & Masonry website and any estimate, service or project you arrange with us. By browsing the home page or any other page on this site, requesting an estimate, or hiring us for work, you agree to these terms.

If a signed written contract for your project says something different from these terms, the signed contract controls for that project. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site or book work through it.

The work we do

K&L Chula Vista Concrete & Masonry is a masonry contractor in Chula Vista, CA. We do concrete and masonry work for homeowners in Chula Vista and the cities around it, including block and brick walls, retaining walls, pavers, walkways, chimneys, fireplaces, stone veneer and repair work. You can read more about who we are on our About page.

The descriptions on this site are general. The exact scope of your job, including materials, measurements and what is and isn't included, is set in your written estimate or contract. We aren't responsible for work that isn't listed there unless we both agree to it in writing.

You agree to give our crew reasonable access to the work area, to tell us about anything we should know before we start, such as known property lines, buried lines, drainage problems or earlier repairs, and to keep children and pets clear of the work area while we're on site.

Estimates and pricing

We give free estimates with no obligation to hire us. An estimate is our best figure based on what we can see and measure before the job starts, and it stays good for the period written on it.

Masonry and concrete work sometimes turns up things nobody could see beforehand, like poor soil, hidden damage, old footings or buried obstructions. If that happens, we'll stop, explain what we found and give you the added cost in writing before we do the extra work. We won't charge for changes you haven't approved.

Prices on any estimate cover the work described on it. Changes you ask for after the estimate, such as a different material, a larger area or added features, may change the price and the schedule, and we'll confirm those changes with you before we go ahead.

Scheduling, delays and cancellations

We'll set a start date with you once you accept the estimate. Start and finish dates are our honest target, not a promise, because weather, material deliveries, inspections and conditions found on site can push them back. We'll keep you posted if the schedule moves.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, please let us know as soon as you can by phone or through our contact page. If we've already ordered special materials or started work, you may be responsible for those costs, as described in your estimate or contract. Any cancellation rights you have under California law still apply.

Payment

The payment schedule for your job, including any deposit and when the balance is due, is written in your estimate or contract. Any deposit we ask for will follow California's rules for home improvement contractors.

Payment is due on the dates agreed in writing. If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's settled, and you may be responsible for reasonable costs of collecting amounts owed, as allowed by law.

Our guarantee and warranty limits

We stand behind our work and want you satisfied with it. If something we built or repaired isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it and make it right where the problem comes from our workmanship. Any specific written warranty for your job is the one in your contract.

Our guarantee doesn't cover problems caused by things outside our control, such as ground movement, earthquakes, flooding, tree roots, misuse, changes or repairs made by others, or normal wear. Concrete and mortar can develop small hairline cracks as they cure and age, which is normal and doesn't by itself mean a defect.

Materials we install carry their makers' warranties, if any, and those warranties are between you and the maker. The information on this website is general and offered as is, without any promise that it fits your particular property.

Limits on our liability

We're licensed and fully insured, and we take responsibility for damage our crew causes while working on your property. Beyond that, and to the fullest extent California law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property or lost income, connected to our work or to this website.

If we are found liable for something connected to a job, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that job, unless the law requires otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under California law.

Settling a disagreement

If you're unhappy with something, please talk to us first. Most problems get sorted out quickly once we're both looking at the same thing, so call (619) 257-1054 or write to us through our contact page and we'll work with you in good faith.

If we can't settle it between us, we're open to mediation if we both agree to it. Any claim that still isn't resolved will be handled in the state courts in San Diego County, California, including small claims court where the amount qualifies.

Which law applies

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the current version will always be on this page. Changes apply to website use and new estimates from the date they're posted, and they don't change a contract you've already signed with us.

If you have questions about these terms, reach out through our contact page or call (619) 257-1054.
